Windshield washer nozzles are easy to ignore until visibility suddenly depends on them. A dusty windshield, road salt, insects, or dirty spray from another vehicle can turn into a real problem if the washer system only produces a weak stream, sprays in the wrong direction, or does not spray at all.
Because the washer system is fairly simple, drivers often expect the nozzle itself to be the problem. In reality, several components work together to move fluid from the reservoir to the windshield.
